【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoversacrylonitrile-butadienestyrene(ABS)pipeproducedbysingleextrusionorsimultaneousmultiplecoextrusion,inSchedule40and80sizesandpressure-ratedforwater(seeAppendix).IncludedarecriteriaforclassifyingABSplasticpipematerialsandABSplasticpipe,asystemofnomenclatureforABSplasticpipe,andrequirementsandtestmethodsformaterials,workmanship,dimensions,sustainedpressure,burstpressure,andextrusionquality.Methodsofmarkingarealsogiven.Theproductscoveredbythisspecificationareintendedforusewiththedistributionofpressurizedliquidsonly,whicharechemicallycompatiblewiththepipingmaterials.Duetoinherenthazardsassociatedwithtestingcomponentsandsystemswithcompressedairorothercompressedgasessomemanufacturersdonotallowpneumatictestingoftheirproducts.Consultwithspecificproduct/componentmanufacturersfortheirspecifictestingprocedurespriortopneumatictesting.Note1-Pressurized(compressed)airorothercompressedgasescontainlargeamountsofstoredenergywhichpresentserioussafteyhazardsshouldasystemfailforanyreason.Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotes,footnotes,andappendixeswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthespecification.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section7,ofthisspecification.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
