【摘要】:Theprocedureinthispracticeforestimatingthepercentageofcoatedparticlesaftervaryingmixingtimesisusedtoestablishtheleastmixingtimerequiredtoproducesatisfactorycoatingforagivensetofconditions.Thisprocedurecanalsobeusedtosamplecoldmixturesfromstockpilestodeterminethatsatisfactorycoatinghasbeenretainedinthestockpile.Thisprocedureisusedwithhot-mixed,hot-laidbituminouspavingmixturessuchasspecifiedinSpecificationD3515orwithcold-mixed,cold-laidbituminouspavingmixturessuchasspecifiedinSpecificationD4215.Note18212;Evenwhenapavingmixturecomplieswiththex201C;percentofcoatedparticlesx201D;thatmaybespecified,thereisnoassurancethattheasphaltcementisuniformlydistributedthroughoutthemixture.1.1Thispracticeprovidesanestimateofthedegreeofparticlecoatinginabituminous-aggregatemixtureonthebasisofthepercentageofcoarseparticlesclassifiedasbeingcompletelycoated.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsareregardedasbeingstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
